I recently picked up two lovely round tables, one of which I painted and sent off to a new home so quickly I wish I had more! This lovely little wine table was heading off to a new lounge room and a wine glass or two
Sometimes you just can’t go past white, and this table seemed to just be perfect for a lovely bright coat (or three) of Annie Sloan Pure White. I think its generally accepted that the Pure White isn’t quite as opaque as some of the other colours in the range, and can usually benefit from an undercoat… particularly given the price of each (my undercoat was about $30 a litre, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is about $60).
It has light distressing that I just love…I would never have said I’m a lover of all things shabby chic but I’m certainly loving the worn look! Which leads me to those lovely worn books on the table… they often feature in my photos and would have to be amoungst my favourite possessions. I have a pile of them in my bedroom – one pile red covered, one pile blue. My Grandmother was a Kindergarden teacher and some of them were her High School or University texts, others were my Mothers. They are complete with their names and School details, notes in the margin and highlighted quotes. I hope one day Emma and Harry will be just as in love with them as I am.
I had to share this – The glamour photos only show one very small part of life don’t they! I don’t know about you, but I have one cheeky monkey who loves to put on a bit of a show as soon as I get the camera out. As soon as I put the camera away he is back playing with his toys and uninterested in what I’m doing.
Thanks for stopping by…
