Graphite Glamour

Graphite Glamour

February has been a month of UFO's for me; getting all the unfinished objects floating round my work area completed!

Graphite is such a stunning colour I couldn't help but use it on both the tallboy above and the rocking chair below. Both have been sitting in my work area for some time, waiting for the right time, and a little inspiration! With all the monochrome interiors I'd seen I finally decided on a style.

For the tallboy I've used Graphite and Black Wax to seal, which deepens the colour and brings it to a soft black. I've also combined a little black wax with clear wax to stain and seal the top. I have loved those jute knobs for some time, and couldn't wait to use them on just the right piece. I think they work perfectly with this colour and style, if I do say so myself!

With all the turned features on the rocking chair above I lightly distressed the edges to allow a little of the golden pine to come through. It certainly gives it just the right amount of character!

If you'd like to try Graphite for yourself, you can purchase either a project pot (118mls) or a tin (946mls) here.

Both pieces are currently available for sale in store. You can find more details here.
