Sometimes I think the key to finding great, budget friendly pieces of furniture is being prepared to ask. Or get out of the car and have a look at that junk pile. And definitely see past the ugly, dirty and mis-treated to see what’s underneath. With this french inspired coffee table it was a case of the first one – I just had to ask!
My local trash and treasure market is a real mixed bag – there are some amazing finds but at some completely ridiculous prices, some absolute junk, and then there are pieces like this coffee table. The stall holder was using it to display the trinkets she had for sale, there was no price and because it had some damage, she had thought no one would be interested in buying it! That is of course where I come in!!
I asked. She cautioned me about the damage but I assured her I’d seen worse and this baby came home with me. I love the details, which have been whitewashed to highlight them. I used ASCP in French Linen and lightly distressed.
The big focus at my house this week is that my daughter Emma turns 5 today. She had a disco party with family and friends over the weekend and today we’ll have a family dinner. I can hardly believe my baby girl is growing up and off to school next year. This kind, creative, loving, amazing girl has changed my life in so many ways that I cannot begin to explain. So a special message to my darling girl – Happy Birthday lovely. I love you to the moon, the stars and the planets, and racing all the way back again because I’d miss you. I couldn’t be more proud.
Thanks for stopping by…
