This months Chalk Paint colour of the month in Antoinette!
Antoinette is the soft, pale pink developed by Annie Sloan, inspired by the decorative pieces and interiors of 18th Century France. Perfect for a Shabby Chic style full of romance and whimsy, it’s more a light dusty pink than anything too sweet. Think old fashioned roses or perfectly pink ballet slippers!
The piece above has been refinished with Antoinette, as you can see I tend to imagine the colour in beautiful bedrooms! This lovely dresser went home with a client creating a romantic bedroom of pale pink, soft grey and white in her new home. I couldn’t part with the original handles, but the gold just didn’t work. In Paris Grey they just looked perfect.
The piece below is another made for a sweet bedroom, and is currently available in store. I couldn’t help myself; as soon as I saw this dressing table I knew Antoinette would be perfect.
I couldn’t finish a post on Antoinette without including a piece or two with dark wax, and while it might not be an automatic choice, it really is lovely. The frames below are from Savy Southern Style, and combined with Annie Sloan craqueluer, just work beautifully. Click over to see what the frame looked like originally, you’d never recognise it!
Last but definitely not least are these beautiful suitcases… that little one on top is absolutely my favourite. Made over by Girl in Pink she worked with the wear and tear visible on the suitcases and in those spots worked in the dark wax for more stunning character.
